Studio Boone-Chinese Brush Painting is first and foremost about
education. I learn every time I pick up a brush to paint. I believe
that it is important for practitioners of skilled labor to pass on
their knowledge to anyone who is eager to learn. Chinese brush painting
is an art form that is handed down from teacher to student. I have
been very fortunate to have a teacher as willing to share as Ning
Yeh. It would dishonor him if I failed to teach my students as
well as I can.
Studio Boone-Chinese Brush Painting is also about personal growth.
Chinese brush painting transcends art and becomes a continual challenge
to grow as a person. Poor brush strokes and mistakes cannot be corrected
in Chinese brush painting. The challenge is nothing short of perfection
in every stroke. Perfection is a lofty goal and not often achieved,
so how will you cope with your mistakes? The answer to this question
is the heart of Chinese brush painting. Each of us will respond to
the challenge of perfection differently. It is a very personal journey.
